Cherokee Park is a park located on Willow Avenue and Cherokee Parkway in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It was designed, like 18 of Louisville's 122 public parks, by Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of landscape architecture.

Tornado Damage in 1974

Much of the park was heavily damaged in the April 3, 1974 tornado Super Outbreak. The tornado was an F4 on the Fujita scale. Due to the loss of thousands of mature trees, a massive re-planting effort was undertaken, and the original Olmsted plans were consulted to plan the rebirth (as it was called at the time) of the park.
