The Charlotte Coliseum is an arena in Charlotte, North Carolina that the NBA's Charlotte Hornets played in before moving to New Orleans and becoming the New Orleans Hornets. The Charlotte Coliseum is also where the NBA expansion Charlotte Bobcats played until 2005, when they will move into the Charlotte Arena in the fall. It was built in 1988, and hosted the 1994 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four and the 1996 NCAA Women's Final Four. The arena is also home to the WNBA's Charlotte Sting, who will move to the Charlotte Arena in 2006. It was home to two Arena Football League teams, the Charlotte Rage and the Carolina Cobras and both teams are now defunct.
