Charlestown CDP is a census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Charlestown located in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. The U.S. Census used the CDP report to provide separate demographic infrmation for the more densely settled village area within the more rural town. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,145.

Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²). 2.2 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.55% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,145 people, 468 households, and 301 families residing in the village area. The population density is 526.3/km² (1,357.6/mi²). There are 503 housing units at an average density of 231.2 persons/km² (596.4 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.95% White, 0.26% Native American, 0.26% Asian, and 0.52% from two or more races. 0.79% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 468 households out of which 31.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% are married couples living together, 12.0% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 35.5% are non-families. 28.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 2.87.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.5% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 26.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 91.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.5 males.
