Cecil McGivern

Cecil McGivern CBE (born May 22 1907, Newcastle, England, United Kingdom; died January 30 1963 in London, England, United Kingdom) was a British broadcasting executive, who initially worked for BBC Radio before transferring to BBC Television in the late 1940s. From 1950 to 1957, he was the Controller of the BBC Television Service. He later worked at Granada Television as an Executive Producer, before being killed in a fire at his home in 1963.
