Catty Cornered
|
Catty Cornered is a 1953 animated short film in the Merrie Melodies series produced by Warner Bros. Cartoons, Inc. It features Sylvester and Tweety in a forerunner of the Rocky and Mugsy cartoons, with Rocky having present-day form and manners. Tweety is in even more peril than usual, as a potential meal and a hostage. Friz Freleng was the director.
Some people believe that the mayor who honors Sylvester at the end is a caricature of former New York City mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia. Others say that he's drawn from Warner's cartoon producer Edward Selzer.
