Cape Chidley is located near Port Burwell, Nunavut, Canada on Killinek Island (or Killiniq Island), separated by a narrow strait from the headland formed by the Torngat Mountains. This headland is the north end of the boundary between Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec This headland is also the terminus of the Northern Divide, which separates the Arctic Ocean watershed from the Atlantic Ocean watershed. (Some sources include Hudson Bay in the Atlantic Ocean watershed, though this divide has been long established.)
