Canute VI of Denmark

Canute IV (1163-1202), also called Canute VI because the two prior kings Harthacanute were counted under the name Canute in older Lists of Rulers, was King of Denmark (1182-1202).
He was the eldest son of King Valdemar I and Sophia of Polotsk. Guided by the Bishop Absalon to not renew his fealty to Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor. Conquered Pomerania and personally led a crusade to Estonia in 1197.
