Canadian Lakes is an unincorporated community located in Mecosta County, Michigan. It is a Census-designated place (CDP) used for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 1,922.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 27.6 km² (10.7 mi²). 24.6 km² (9.5 mi²) of it is land and 3.0 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.88% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,922 people, 923 households, and 726 families residing in the community. The population density is 78.1/km² (202.3/mi²). There are 1,624 housing units at an average density of 66.0/km² (171.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 97.81% White, 0.52% African American, 0.21% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. 0.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 923 households out of which 10.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.2% are married couples living together, 2.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.3% are non-families. 18.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.08 and the average family size is 2.32.
