The Canada China Business Council or CCBC (French: Conseil commercial Canada-Chine, Chinese: 加中贸易理事会) is "a private sector, non-profit membership organization incorporated in 1978 to facilitate and promote trade and investment between Canada and the People's Republic of China." [1] (http://www.ccbc.com) It acts as Canada's chamber of commerce in China, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Chengdu and Shenyang. The Beijing office is located inside the CITIC Building on Jianguomenwai Avenue.
Mandate
The CCBC's mandate includes the following:
- to stimulate and support trade in goods and services, investment and technology transfer;
- to achieve greater economic growth and a closer relationship between Canada and China;
- to provide practical and focused assistance to business;
- to be the voice of the Canadian business community on matters of Canada-China relations, both to government and to the public at large. [2] (http://www.ccbc.com)
