Camden is a city located in Kershaw County, South Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,682. It is the county seat of Kershaw CountyTemplate:GR.

The racial makeup of the city is 60.72% White, 37.19% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.63% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. 1.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,874 households out of which 24.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.6% are married couples living together, 16.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.9% are non-families. 34.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.25 and the average family size is 2.88.
