Calgary Esperanto Center

The Calgary Esperanto Center began operating in May 2002 as a small room inside The Calgary Multicultural Centre at its old location in East Village, east of downtown Calgary in Canada.
In June 2003, Esperanto Antauen announced the signing of a five year lease for a new home for the Calgary Esperanto Center. The new, larger premises are located in the heart of downtown Calgary immediately in front of the Eighth Avenue C-Train Stop.
The new location has three rooms, approximately 550 square feet (51 m²), with access to a large outdoor balcony (several thousand square feet). One of the rooms is being used primarily as a classroom for Esperanto courses, another room is being used as home of the Dorothy Hawley Esperanto Library and venue for small meeting and events the third room is a small administration office.
In addition to a number of Esperanto films, and magazines, the library currently contains more than 400 books, most of which were donated from the personal collection of Dorothy Hawley. The library subscribes to major Esperanto publications and regularly purchases new items.
