Bynum is an unincorporated census-designated place located in Calhoun County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the community is 1,863.
Geography
Bynum is located at 33°36'21.546" North, 85°57'47.909" West (33.605985, -85.963308)Template:GR.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²). 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,863 people, 734 households, and 546 families residing in the community. The population density is 218.0/km² (564.4/mi²). There are 772 housing units at an average density of 90.3/km² (233.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 86.96% White, 9.98% Black or African American, 0.70% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.54% from other races, and 1.66% from two or more races. 1.40% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
