Buntine, Western Australia

Buntine is a small town in the Shire of Dalwallinu, in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. It is located at Template:Coor dm, on the Great Northern Highway and the railway line from Wongan Hills to Mullewa. It is approximately 300 km (190 miles) north of the State capital Perth, and is at an altitude of 365 metres.
The name Buntine was first used in 1910 as the name of a nearby hill. In 1913, it was applied to a railway siding at the location, at the suggestion of District Surveyor J P Camm. The town of Buntine was gazetted in 1916.
