Buick Skylark
|
The Buick Skylark is a passenger car produced by General Motors. The model was made in three production runs. In each production, the car design varied quite dramatically. This was due to changing technology, changing tastes, and new standards being implemented over the years. These ran through the model years: 1953-1954, 1961-1972, 1980-1985, and 1987-1998.

For 1954, the Skylark returned, although radically restyled [1] (http://www.motorbase.com/profiles/picture/index.ehtml?i=112806128). This Skylark featured elongated wheel cutouts, the interior of which were painted a contrasting color to the body color (example, black cars received red wheel wells). The trunk of the restyled Skylark was sloped into a semi-barrel shape. Tail lights were house in large chromed fins that projected from the tops of the rear fenders. The cost of the Skylark, mixed with the public's dislike for the restyle, resulted cars demise at the end of the 1954 model year.
