Bud Collyer (June 18, 1908 – September 8 1969) was an American voice actor and game show host, born Clayton J. Heermance, Jr.
He was born in New York City.
He provided the voice of Superman in the 1940s radio drama The Adventures of Superman and cartoon shorts, and was the voice of Batman in the 1960s television cartoon show. Bud's many radio roles also included stints on Terry and the Pirates, Renfrew of the Mounted, Abie's Irish Rose, The March of Time and Cavalcade of America.
He was also the long-time host of the television game shows Beat The Clock and To Tell The Truth.
He died in Greenwich, Connecticut of a cirulatory ailment.
