Broadcom Corporation Template:Nasdaq is a supplier of integrated circuits for broadband communications especially massive high-speed networks including ICs for set-top boxes, cable modems, servers, and LANs and home networking devices. Broadcom also makes ICs for digital subscriber line (DSL), carrier access, and wireless communications equipment. Customers include Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Dell, and Cisco Systems. Co-founders are Henry Samueli (chairman and CTO) and Henry Nicholas . Outsources production to Asian foundries such as TSMC, SMIC, Silterra, and UMC. The company is based in Irvine, California.
In Q2 2005, Broadcom Corporation announced a strategic partnership to provide wireless technology for Nintendo's next generation gaming systems. Broadcom will be offering Nintendo its “online solution on a chip” as deployed in millions of notebooks and PDAs across the globe, enabling Nintendo wireless connectivity in its next-generation consoles.
