Broadcast (band)
|
Broadcast are an electronica music band, based in Birmingham, United Kingdom, currently signed to Warp Records. Its members are Trish Keenan, Roj Stevens, Tim Felton and James Cargill.
The band's style is a mixture of modern electronica sounds and Keenan's 1960s-influenced vocals. They are heavily influenced by the 1960's American psychedelic group The United States of America, using many of the same electronic effects.
The band's first releases were singles released on the Duophonic Records label in the mid-1990s. They attracted the attention of Warp Records, who compiled the singles in 1997 on Work and Non Work.
Since then, the band have released two albums: The Noise Made By People (2000) and Haha Sound (2003), as well as several EPs.
Their most notable EP is Microtronics, Volume 01, a more experimental release described as "stereo recorded music for links and bridges," limited to just 2000 copies.
A new album and tour are planned for late summer/early fall of 2005.
