Bridgewater is a village located in Oneida County, New York, USA. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 579.
The Village of Bridgewater is within the Town of Bridgewater at the junction of US Route 20 and Route 8.

History
The village was incorporated in 1825.
Geography
Bridgewater is located at 42°52'45" North, 75°15'1" West (42.879281, -75.250487)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 579 people, 204 households, and 151 families residing in the village. The population density is 366.5/km² (943.7/mi²). There are 221 housing units at an average density of 139.9/km² (360.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.45% White, 0.69% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.86% from two or more races. 1.90% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 204 households out of which 43.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% are married couples living together, 12.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% are non-families. 22.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.84 and the average family size is 3.18.
In the village the population is spread out with 34.0% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $27,788, and the median income for a family is $28,409. Males have a median income of $23,125 versus $21,071 for females. The per capita income for the village is $12,995. 12.6% of the population and 11.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 15.6% of those under the age of 18 and 18.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
