Brent is a census-designated place located in Escambia County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 22,257.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 27.2 km² (10.5 mi²). 27.0 km² (10.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.86% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 22,257 people, 7,008 households, and 4,800 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 823.1/km² (2,132.4/mi²). There are 7,796 housing units at an average density of 288.3/km² (746.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 59.87% White, 34.25% African American, 0.74% Native American, 2.28% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, 0.47% from other races, and 2.13% from two or more races. 1.95% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 7,008 households out of which 32.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.7% are married couples living together, 22.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.5% are non-families. 25.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.12.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 24.1% from 18 to 24, 23.4% from 25 to 44, 17.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 27 years. For every 100 females there are 84.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 78.9 males.
