Template:Genrebox Breakbeat (breakbeats or breaks), are a collection of sub-genres of electronic music, chiefly exemplified by drum and bass and jungle, usually characterized by a non-straighted 4/4 drum pattern (as opposed to the steady beat of house or trance).
FunkyBreakbeats: Are a different genre usually played with real instruments and realdrummers. James Brown was one of first to produce funkybreaks maker with the track (funkydrummer). Another funkybreakbeat artist is DJ leacy (Battle of the year main DJ) who makes mixes from old funkybreakbeat tracks from early the early 70s and 80s. Breakbeat also encompasses funk , acid jazz and other, older genres with complex beats. Modern funkybreakbeat tracks tend to be remixes.
Funky/old skool breaks have been produced by these artists: Cut Chemist ,DJ Shadow , Kid Kut , Kid Koala , Krafty Kuts ,Incredible Bongoband, Herbie Hancock , Breakestra, Mr. Dibbs.
