Making of the Album
The album was recorded in January and February 2004 and was self-produced by the band at Kingdom Studios in Perth. Its duration is 40:47 minutes.
The album is the first by Jebediah as an independent band after leaving Sony Music Australia in 2002 by mutual consent. The band was unhappy with the promotion of its self-titled album while its sales were not as strong as previous releases.
Chart Success
Braxton Hicks was released on July 12, 2004 in Australia. It debuted at #26 in the Australian charts, a good result, but short of the top ten debut of the two preceding albums. However, the band estimates that it can break even with fewer sales as an independent act than on a major label. The first single "First Time" made the Australian top 50 while the second single will be "No Sleep".
