Brave Saint Saturn
|
Brave Saint Saturn is a Christian rock band formed in Denver, Colorado. It is basically a side-project of former members of Five Iron Frenzy, that Reese started for songs he thought were too serious for FIF. The band calls their music "astro-rock."
This is explained through the metaphors the band (more exactly:Reese) uses. Considering that the former leader of Five Iron Frenzy found his original band too straightforward fun for any real feelings of loneliness and abandonment, he founded BSS. The whole band is the platform for the more depressed and sad lyrics Reese writes sometimes too. He wants to show people they are not the only ones with feelings like these, and that there is hope in Jesus. Roper uses "Space" as a metaphor for loneliness, because in space, you happen to be lonely and often lost, too. So that's why there are heaps of electronic samples and even NASA-recordings on the first two albums.
Their third and final album, being called "The Dreams You Dare to Dream" is slated for release sometime this year.
