Boynton Beach is a city located in Palm Beach County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 60,389.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 42.1 km² (16.2 mi²). 41.1 km² (15.9 mi²) of it is land and 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.28% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 60,389 people, 26,210 households, and 15,673 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,468.3/km² (3,803.5/mi²). There are 30,643 housing units at an average density of 745.0/km² (1,930.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 70.36% White, 22.89% African American, 0.22% Native American, 1.52% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 2.36% from other races, and 2.60% from two or more races. 9.21% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 26,210 households out of which 22.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.4% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.2% are non-families. 33.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.26 and the average family size is 2.87.
In the city the population is spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 25.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 87.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.5 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $39,845, and the median income for a family is $47,546. Males have a median income of $32,503 versus $26,399 for females. The per capita income for the city is $22,573. 10.2% of the population and 7.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.9% of those under the age of 18 and 7.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
