Boonville is a village located in Oneida County, New York, USA. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,138. The village is named after Gerrit Boon, an agent of the Holland Land Company.
The Village of Boonville is within the Town of Boonville. Boonville is at the convergence of Routes 12, 12D, 46, and 294 in the northern part of the town.

History
The first settlement, instigated by Gerrit Boon, was made around 1795. The village was incorporated in 1855. The original name of the community, provided by Boon, was Kortenaer (after a Dutch admiral).
Geography
Boonville is located at 43°28'59" North, 75°19'55" West (43.483201, -75.331945)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.6 km² (1.8 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,138 people, 877 households, and 537 families residing in the village. The population density is 463.8/km² (1,202.0/mi²). There are 960 housing units at an average density of 208.2/km² (539.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 99.49% White, 0.05% Black or African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.23% from two or more races. 0.23% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 877 households out of which 28.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.6% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.7% are non-families. 33.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.26 and the average family size is 2.86.
In the village the population is spread out with 22.4% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 22.0% from 45 to 64, and 23.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 87.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 79.4 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $29,013, and the median income for a family is $36,050. Males have a median income of $28,583 versus $22,219 for females. The per capita income for the village is $16,870. 12.0% of the population and 8.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 12.1% of those under the age of 18 and 10.6% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
