Bobbejaanland is a family park in Belgium. It was founded by Bobbejaan Schoepen in 1961. It offers a lot of family attractions, such as the Indiana River Indoor Waterslide, the Revolution Dark Rollercoaster, the Speedy Bob Roller Coaster, the AirRace Suspended Roller Coaster, the longest junior roller coaster in the world 'Okidoki' (='that's allright') and the world first Typhoon Roller Coaster with a drop angle of over 97°. In the Star Theater you can watch a Las Vegas style show, starring singers, dancers and other artists. The giant SledgeHammer is a massive construction of steel, dominating the park. A part of the park's energy is delivered by a giant wind mill. Bobbejaan Schoepen was a country singer, so the park is partly themed as a western village (for example the El Rio White Water Rapids and the El Paso Dark Ride). In 'Kinderland' (=Kids'Country)you'll find attractions for the smallest visitors. A monorail transports the many visitors around the park. Each year some 900.000 visitors enter the park in the north of Flanders. In 2003 it was sold to the Spanish Parque Reunidos group, who immediately replaced the parks' management, closing out the former owners, the Bobbejaan Family. The oldest Rollercoaster in Bobbejaanland is AirRace.
