Bob Saget (born May 17, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a US actor and stand-up comedian best known for his role as a father in the ABC sitcom Full House and as host to the TV home video show America's Funniest Home Videos. Along with being born in Philadelphia, he had also attended Abington Senior High School and is well distinguished there on its Hall of Fame. In addition, he became a Temple University student shortly after he had graduated, and his career would flourish through small but meaningful gigs. He was host from 1990 to 1997. Contrary to his saccharine-sweet appearance on Full House, he is also known for his raunchy, vulgar stand-up routines. His parents are William Saget (1924-1991) and Hillary Saget (1926-2001).
After a failed attempt at another sitcom in 2001, Saget has turned to directing. He is currently acting on stage in New York.
Saget had a sister, Gay, who died of scleroderma. Her life story was the inspiration for Saget's movie.
When Bob was a child he broke his nose two times playing basketball, which explains the irregularity.
