Blantyre, Malawi

Blantyre is the largest city in Malawi and the capital of the country's Southern Region. Blantyre had a population of 646,235 in 2003. The city has at least one television station (see List of TV stations). The presidential palace – the Sanjika Palace – is also located there, as well as the Supreme Court.
Blantyre is named after the Scottish town of Blantyre where the explorer David Livingstone was born.
