BioMed Central (BMC) is a UK-based scientific publisher specializing in open access publication. BMC publishes over 100 scientific journals, including Arthritis Research & Therapy (http://arthritis-research.com/), Breast Cancer Research (http://www.breast-cancer-research.com/), Critical Care (http://ccforum.com/), Genome Biology (http://genomebiology.com), Journal of Biology (http://jbiol.com/), Journal of Negative Results in BioMedicine (http://www.jnrbm.com/), Malaria Journal, and the BMC journal series.
Whilst all research published by BioMed Central is open access, the publisher also offers subscription-only services such as Faculty of 1000 (a current awareness service highlighting the most interesting biological research) and Images.MD (a medical image database)
