Bigfork is a census-designated place located in Flathead County, Montana. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,421.
Geography
Bigfork is located at 48°3'55" North, 114°4'54" West (48.065214, -114.081700)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 15.3 km² (5.9 mi²). 14.9 km² (5.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.87% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,421 people, 652 households, and 410 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 95.4/km² (247.1/mi²). There are 962 housing units at an average density of 64.6/km² (167.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 97.33% White, 0.35% African American, 1.06% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 0.07% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races. 1.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 652 households out of which 18.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.4% are married couples living together, 4.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 33.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.08 and the average family size is 2.59.
