|
Bertran de Born (c. 1140 - before 1215) was a French soldier and a medieval troubadour.
Bertran de Born was viscount of Hautefort. He warred with his brother Constantin for the sole possession of the family heritage. He made trouble between Henry II of England and his sons. Dante portrayed him in the Inferno as carrying his head in his hands as punishment. Bertran ended his life in a monastery, at Dalon Abbey.
