The Battle of Athens was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens, Tennessee, United States, against local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some veteran GIs from World War II, alleged the local officials of corruption and political machinery.
The event is claimed to be a victory of the Second Amendment to bring fair elections by firearms ownership advocates.
