Bangor is a town located in Franklin County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,147. The town is named after Bangor in Wales.
The Town of Bangor was organized from the Town of Dickinson in 1812.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 111.7 km² (43.1 mi²). 111.7 km² (43.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,147 people, 776 households, and 585 families residing in the town. The population density is 19.2/km² (49.8/mi²).
