Australian Pink Floyd Show
|
The Australian Pink Floyd Show (APS) are a Pink Floyd tribute band. Formed in 1988 in South Australia, they are considered to be one of the premier Pink Floyd tribute acts, with shows that closely duplicate actual Pink Floyd concerts. They are also the only tribute band that have recreated David Gilmour's guitar set up — including the rare box used to create the whale sounds in Echoes, of which only four are known to exist, the other three being owned by Gilmour.
In 1996, APS performed at David Gilmour's 50th birthday, and are the only tribute band to have played for any Pink Floyd member. They are also the only Pink Floyd tribute to have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, performing there on November 26th 2001, being joined with the choir from Islington Green School for a rendition of Another Brick in The Wall pt. 2.
