Anthony is a census-designated place located in Doņa Ana County, New Mexico. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 7,904.
Geography
Anthony is located at 32°0'22" North, 106°36'2" West (32.006028, -106.600669)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.2 km² (4.0 mi²). 10.2 km² (4.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 7,904 people, 2,077 households, and 1,858 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 772.6/km² (2,002.4/mi²). There are 2,217 housing units at an average density of 216.7/km² (561.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 57.78% White, 0.27% African American, 0.94% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 37.82% from other races, and 2.83% from two or more races. 96.44% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,077 households out of which 57.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.7% are married couples living together, 25.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 10.5% are non-families. 8.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.81 and the average family size is 4.02.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 39.7% under the age of 18, 12.0% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 14.7% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 24 years. For every 100 females there are 92.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.0 males.
