Anointed Quorum
|
The Anointed Quorum, also known as the Quorum of the Anointed, or the Holy Order, was an elite body of men and women with special standing in early Mormonism. Many, but not all, of the members of this Quorum had received the ordinance of the Second Anointing, and nearly all were important leaders in the Church or community. Beginning in 1842, the Quorum was the center of Mormon spirituality, where members met to participate in the Mormon Prayer Circle regarding spiritual matters of the day; however, it was never an administrative body of the Church.
