Aneby Municipality

Aneby Municipality is a municipality in Jönköping County in southern Sweden, where Aneby is the seat.
The municipality covers an area of 519.1 km². It has a total population of 6,682 and a population density of 13 inhabitants per km². The city has a population of about 3,500.
Geography
It is the northenmost municipality in the district Smalandia and is mainly a forest area with some agriculture, traversed by small rivers.
Most of the forest is part of the Swedish belt of coniferous forest, mostly consisting of spruces and blueberries.
Demography
Aneby is the smallest municipality in the county. In 1994, the population in the municipality was at an all time high of 7,300 persons, which is attributed to refugees from former Yugoslavia. The population has since decreased, to the regret of the officials who are working to get it populated to about 8,000 inhabitants by promoting it.
