Amazing Adventures
|
Amazing Adventures is the name of several anthology-format comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The original Amazing Adventures introduced Doctor Droom, Marvel's first Silver Age superhero, in its first issue; he appeared in all six issues of Amazing Adventures, and vanished into obscurity when the series was retitled to Amazing Adult Fantasy with #7. (Doctor Droom later resurfaced as Doctor Druid, having been renamed to avoid confusion with Doctor Doom.)
The second Amazing Adventures series featured tales of the Inhumans, initially by Jack Kirby, and later featured the solo stories of the Beast, in which he was mutated into his famous blue- (originally grey-) furred form. His supporting cast included Patsy Walker and her ex-husband "Buzz" Baxter, who became the supervillain Mad-Dog. Later issues of the series introduced Killraven, who was the feature character until the series was cancelled.
