Alucard
|
Alucard (Dracula, spelled backwards) has several meanings:
- "Alucard" is the name of the "breakthrough hit" by the band Gentle Giant. The title is intended as a (not too) hidden reference to the subject of the song, Dracula.
- Alucard is also a character in the ongoing series of video games, Castlevania, where his full name is Adrian Farenheights Tepes. This Alucard is the half-human son of the legendary vampire Dracula, who serves as the primary villain of the Castlevania series. His major role in the series comes in the game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Sony PlayStation, where he is the protagonist of the game. However, he has minor roles in numerous other titles in the series, including being a playable character in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
- Alucard is the name of characters in several other vampire-related movies/series and computer games:
- Asylum
- Dr. Terror's Gallery of Horrors
- Dracula A.D. 1972
- Dracula: The Dirty Old Man
- Hellsing
- Son of Dracula
