Alfred-Maurice de Zayas

Alfred-Maurice de Zayas (b. 1947) is a retired senior lawyer with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, former Secretary of the UN Human Rights Committee and former Chief of Petitions, visiting professor of law at the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales.
The Cuban-born American researcher and historian has published work has dealt with German refugee matters during and after World War II, a rather unpopular area.
As of 2004, he is Secretary General of the International PEN in Geneva.
