Alan Gorrie

Alan Gorrie is the founding member of the Average White Band, a successful Scottish funk/R&B group that debuted in the 1970s. He was born in Perth, Scotland on July 19, 1946. The band formed in Glasgow in 1972.
In addition to his credits with AWB, he can also be credited with collaborating with, among others, Daryl Hall (http://www.hallandoates.com) on his "Soul Alone" album and tours and his "Can't Stop Dreaming" album. Gorrie resides in the United States and continues to have a home in Scotland as well.
Some of his interests/hobbies include art, sailing, eating, cooking and drinking, (see Paulin (http://www.paulin.demon.co.uk/awb/html/home.htm)) especially single malt whiskey, one of his favorites being Famous Grouse (http://www.famousgrouse.com).
