Alan Furst

Alan Furst is an American author of historical spy novels set just prior to and during the Second World War. His writing is considered realistic and of a distinctly "literary" quality that sets it apart from the common "spy thriller". Furst is often compared to writers like Graham Greene, John le Carré, and particularly Eric Ambler. Furst, born in New York in the 1940s, lived in Paris for a number of years, and currently lives on Long Island. He has written eight novels to date.
