The Honourable M. Aileen Carroll (born June 1, 1944, Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian politician and (as of December 12, 2003) current Minister for International Cooperation. As a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons she represents the district of Barrie, Ontario. First elected to the House of Commons in 1997, Carroll was re-elected in the 2000 and 2004 general elections. Before her election, Carroll served an Alderman (1995-1997) in Barrie. Carroll has a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University (1965) and a Bachelor of Education from York University (1989). Carroll and her husband D. Kevin Carroll, Q.C., have two grown children, Daniel and Joanna. She served as an alderman on the Barrie City Council in Barrie, Ontario from 1995 to 1997.
