Aetonyx (ee-TON-ix) meaning “eagle claw”, referring to its claws, which were like an eagle’s (Greek aëtos = eagle + onyx = claw) was the name given the remains of a Late Triassic dinosaur. It used to be classified as a carnosaur, but has since been identified with Massospondylus, a prosauropod.
