Aeshna Fabricius,1775, or the hawker dragonflies or (Am.) mosaic darners, is a genus from the family of darners (Aeshnidae).

Descripton
The name 'Aeschna' has been used for a long time, but is now abandoned for the original name 'Aeshna'
These are relatively larger dragonflies. Their thorax and abdomen has a brown color, with blue or yellow stripes or spots on the thorax, and yellow, blue or green spots on the abdomen.
This genus has recently been split into Aeshna and Rhinoaeschna
