40th Street-Lowery Street (IRT Flushing Line station)

40th Street's exit is in the centre and at this time has no crossunder due to dual fare controls. Renovation will include a crossunder. The mezzanine is tile. The north end has gaps in the windscreen on the southbound platform and no gaps on the northbound platform. New stained glass artwork has been installed along the platforms, including one depicting various baseball scenes (which might more appropriately be installed at Willets Point-Shea Stadium).
40 Street-Lowery is the second of three 7 stations on Queens Boulevard, New York City. These are all on the concrete viaduct.
40 Street/Lowery has one center exit/entrance, with no free change of directions.
In 1998 the names Bliss, Lowery and Rawson were removed from the stations. In 2004 they were re-added back onto the station signs and subway map as part of a historical move.
