Samland
Samland or, in Latin, Sambia, was the name of a the Baltic nation populated rich in amber areas of Sambian peninsula in the Prussia at the Baltic Sea coast near Königsberg. Sambia was the area, where Old Prussian language extincted the last, in XVI century, after failed attempt to rebelion against the rule of Albrecht of PrussiaThe unofficial name region was still in use in Province of Prussia, and now in the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.
For thousands of years amber has been found at the Samland coast and an Amber Road trade route has led from Prussia's "first city" of Truso to the Black Sea and further east.
