I am a surrealist painter (in gouache, including on aluminum foil, cardboard cut from a USPS Priority Mail box, cork, papyrus, rubber and sandpaper; acrylic; oil; automotive paint, CinnaMint breath drops and red wine stain remover); photographer (including Polaroids and those taken in a photo booth); cartoonist and maker of chocolate coulages; cubomanias; drawings with lip balm and pen (including antimicrobial counter pen, ballpoint pen, counterfeit pen, four-color pen, invisible ink pen, non-permanent and dry erase markers, permanent marker, Rainbow Magic pen, and yes-know pen) on (among other surfaces) banana paper, Crayola Color Wonder paper, flannel, a printed magazine page, paper with staples, and the playing surface of compact discs; stencils; fax art; works involving chewing gum and digital artworks, both screen-based and printed (via laser printer, for example). I have used whiteboard and FIMO. I have employed such surrealist methods as grattage and parsemage and my surrealist object "The Blue Fetish" (http://www.valweb.org/pipedreams/DanBoyer.htm), is made of a PVC trap painted with gouache inside which is a chocolate-coated espresso bean and decaffeinated coffee bean. I have made two films, The Dead Man and The Erotic Life of the Eskimo, a watch in honour of An Jung-geun (published by Idealist Press International, Ltd.), a a computer desktop design (http://www.geocities.com/Paris/6721/The_guerilla.gif) and a bumper sticker.

Two of my articles, "Are You Crazy?: Mental Illness and Whiteness" and "Seattle 1999 - Just the Beginning," and one of my drawings, "The Breakfast Club," were published in Surrealist Subversions, edited and introduced by Ron Sakolsky. I was a contributor to the Treatise of Pataphysical Anatomy, published by SpiderWeb Productions. I am the author of The Tailgating Spinster (published in 2003 by Fiji Island Mermaid Press). I designed the back cover for Psycho magazine (http://myasylum.ca/mya/mya-images/10er.JPG) and the cover for the e-book Chapter 1 of the Anemone Sidecar (http://www.ravennapress.com/snowmonkey/works/as1.pdf) (published by Ravenna Press), and you can see my digital book Me: An Autobiography (http://www.fimp.net/medanboyer1.html) at the Fiji Island Mermaid Press website (http://www.fimp.net).

I have also been active in mail art, and have designed artistamps. Since 2002 I have served as the Chief Executive Officer of the International Union of Mail Artists. I have been named an Academical Knight of Verbano by the Ordine Accademia Internazionale <<Greci-Marino>>.

My bookplate (http://www.nottwo.demon.co.uk/Text/exlib8.htm) was exhibited at the Ex Libris (http://www.nottwo.demon.co.uk/Text/exlib8.htm) exhibit at the HUB Gallery in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

When I attended Colorado College I worked on the Catalyst and wrote a review of an exhibit (http://www.geocities.com/Paris/6721/Alexandra_Nechita.html) by Alexandra Nechita. I also designed a poster for the screening of L'Age d'Or there.

I received a BA from Curry College, where I took a class in Digital Imaging: Photoshop (AC (http://www.curry.edu/academic/acadcomp/acadcomp.html.orig) 2738), two of the computer graphics I made in partial fulfillment of the requirements of which were The Scalpeles History White-clothed Like a Dove and with Three Owls (http://www.geocities.com/Paris/6721/Scalpel--the_scalpeles_history_white-clothed_like_a_dove_and_with_three_owls.gif). I was a participant in the Hexa Web Net Project, part of the 2nd Biennial of Media Art, Media City, Seoul, Korea.

In 1997 I curated the "Surrealism: Books, Objects, Posters and Pamphlets from Four Continents" exhibit at the East Library and Information Center (http://library.ppld.org/aboutyourlibrary/hourslocations/east.asp) in Colorado Springs. In 2003 I signed a petition (http://www.twokmi-kimali.de/) protesting the pending sale of the contents of Andre Breton's studio at 42 rue Fontaine in Paris.

I have signed collective surrealist statements including "For Tyree Guyton (http://racetraitor.org/tyreeguyton.html)" and "POETRY MATTERS!: On the Media Persecution of Amiri Baraka (http://www.surrealism-usa.org/pages/news_poetry%20_matters.html)."

I contributed a drawing (http://www.zyarts.com/ebook/daniel.html) to the Picasso e-book (http://www.zyarts.com/ebook), commemorating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Pablo Picasso in 2001.

It was at my suggestion that Blue Feathers SE2, a special edition on the events of September 11, 2001 (http://www.magneticfields.org/blue/SE2/publish/SE2page6.html) was published, in which I had an illustration including thread and an icecube.
