How is the BMW X5 a near competitor to this vehicle? A Range Rover is much closer. akaDruid 10:44, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- I think the BMW is the closest competitor right now. The Land/Range Rovers are much more off-road biased, as are the existing Mercedes SUVs, while the Audi, Volvo, and others are not nearly as sporty. The Infiniti FX is another close competitor.
- The first direct channenger to the Cayenne will be the Range Rover Sport. Even though it's based on a seperate frame borrowed from the new Discovery/LR3 it's supposed to be extremely road-biased, and Land Rover has been testing it on the N-ring for some time and it looks very respectable. I'll note in the article... -- stewacide 21:12, Jan 26, 2005 (UTC)
- I'd guess the nearest competitor to be the VW Touareg - with the same sporty, luxury, on-road SUV target market, the same engines and many identical components... -- Marcika 18:29, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
