Should this be merged with Emergency medical technician? 90% of the article are already identical. -- JeLuF 00:22 Aug 23, 2002 (PDT)
NO. The differing roles of the two need to be expanded. An EMT is a super first-aid technician // a paramedic is almost a nurse. user:clarka
There are three different types of EMTs. EMT-B (which is what laypeople mean when they say "paramedic"), EMT-I and EMT-P (paramedic or simply "medic"). Professionals always refer to EMT-Bs as EMTs and EMT-Ps as paramedics, and around my way, an EMT-I is a cardiac rescue technician. It is, however, untrue to say that paramedics are not EMTs. I think they should be merged and the differences between the different types should all be placed in one article (at emergency medical technician). Tokerboy 14:01 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
this is all in America. I don't know what foreign paramedics do besides eat babies, drink blood and urinate on bibles. Tokerboy 14:02 Nov 13, 2002 (UTC)
