What's the point of using non-iso-latin-1 characters like 'ŋ'? They still appear as an interrogant in most browsers. -- Perique des Palottes
- Because most people have a unicode font installed on their computer for at least three years. Internet_Explorer 5.0 which came out 1999 already came with the font Lucida sans Unicode]] which nicely displays this page. So if you set your browser's font to this font this page displays properly. Later browsers even automatically choose the right font (see Unicode_and_HTML). As more than 80% the visitors are using a IE5 or later on Windows I consider it a good idea to give the correct IPA glyph. I think it is helpful that you add the SAMPA as well. -- HJH
